Water Management Department Preparing Culverts Cleaning Team

Jakarta Water Management Department will open recruitment of tens freelancers to be culvert cleaning team. They will be alerted on some clogged-prone points for 24 hours during rainy season.

Those personnel are only for rainy season. So when it's done, they will go down cleaning the culverts,

Head of Jakarta Water Management Department, Tri Djoko Sri Margianto stated, eventhough now channel dredging, river and dam normalization have been conducted, but there is still utility problem. It will make trash clogged in the channel when raining.

'I've already checked the culverts from Sabang until accross of Jalan MH Thamrin. But certainly the utility could be disrupting ," he explained, Wednesday (11/4).

He claimed, his side cannot move the utility in form of wires and pipes crossing in the channel. Hence, as anticipation his side has instructed each sub-department to prepare 50 new personnel.

"Those personnel are only for rainy season. So when it's done, they will go down cleaning the culverts," he uttered.
